Above is a gallery of some of the character designs I’ve created over the years.
Below is an example of my character design process, which in this case is creating a male npc design for Borderlands 2.
After receiving the brief from Scott Kester (Art Director) I started off with a quick round of concepts, at this stage it’s all about the ideas, I sent in my initial 8 ideas.

After talking to Scott to see what was good and what was not I worked further upon concepts 2 and 6.

After further discussion I worked on character progression levels using 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3

Further ideation based on the final design 6. After further discussion I came up with 2 tighter designs.
After we finalized all the details, textures and colors we had our final Borderlands 2 Male NPC.
And as always I followed up with a callout sheet for production.
